We are so grateful to Lake Erie Ink for providing a home for the aspiring writers of Cleveland Heights! Not only do they provide workshops for young artists and writers, they also offer academic support, and create unique opportunities for education and expression. This upcoming month they are partnering with organizations from all over Cleveland Heights for their newest Weekend Ink Genre Workshop.
Lake Erie Ink believes it takes a community to foster a lifelong love of creative expression. This fall, the writing space for youth based in Cleveland Heights has taken extra steps to increase their community presence, partnering with over 29 different community organizations and being involved with a total of 36 outreach and community programs, including the Stop the Hate Competition organized by the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage. Lake Erie Ink hopes to continue this trend of community partnerships by expanding new relationships with community organizations to provide creative expression opportunities and academic support for youth who may not otherwise have those opportunities.
In the spirit of community partnerships, Lake Erie Ink runs a series of Weekend Ink Genre Workshops. In these monthly workshops, Lake Erie Ink partners with organizations or individuals that specialize in one form of creative expression to make available unique creative experiences for youth. This November, Lake Erie Ink is excited to introduce Lovelines: Stories of Family and Community, a collaborative workshop, in partnership with Dunham Tavern Museum and the Cleveland Association for Black Storytellers. The program is for lovers of stories, of all ages, at all levels. Lovelines: Stories of Family and Community takes place at the Dunham Tavern 10:30-12 on November 20. Register at lakeerieink.org/register. For more information, visit https://lakeerieink.org/stories/ or call (216)320-4757. The workshop is $10 with scholarships available.
