Michael Peterman, President of the Coventry Village Special Improvement District announced that Mallory Phillips has been selected as its new Executive Director effective October 1, 2018.
The Coventry Village Special Improvement District (SID) is a 501c-3 non-profit economic development organization that exists to enrich the quality of life for residents and neighbors, celebrate the community, attract visitors and create economic benefits for the merchants of Coventry Village.
“The Coventry merchants and SID are really looking forward to working with Mallory Phillips as our new Executive Director,” says Suzanne DeGaetano of Mac’s Backs Bookstore. “She has a real passion for neighborhoods, small business and community and the unique ability to celebrate that through social media and events.” Mac’s Backs is celebrating their 40th anniversary on September 29th.
Mallory has spent the last decade building her experience in marketing, events, and brand development. In 2013 she started her own agency that specialized in red carpet fundraisers for non-profits in Beverly Hills, CA. She has also provided corporate marketing services to shopping centers in the Greater Los Angeles Area. After a serendipitous move to Cleveland in 2015, Mallory and her company, Dreamhouse Marketing, began to make an impact with businesses like Six Shooter Coffee, Jukebox, The Cleveland Hostel, and The Beachland Ballroom. She has helped develop community events like SoLo Stroll and The Beachland Ballroom’s 2017 Rockin’ Flea Market series. Her investment into the Cleveland community goes beyond the small business world. Mallory is a fierce supporter of the arts and has played an active role in the local music, art, and literary scenes. Her goal as the Executive Director of Coventry Village SID is to develop enticing programming and events, create increased awareness of what is happening in the neighborhood, direct public art projects, and build a robust and engaging digital marketing plan for communicating with the people of Coventry Village.
“Coventry Village is a unique place full of wonderful and hardworking people,” said Phillips. “I’m thrilled by the opportunity to work alongside them, tell their stories, promote their work, and help build a more connected and active community around this magical place. There is so much life to be lived here in Coventry!”
